“I have died Chou, just wheel me to the morgue and put me out of my misery!” Was said with dramatic airs as Yoshinori sprawled backwards over a nurse checkpoint, hand tossed over his forehead like he was faint. The nurse raised an eyebrow before shoving him off with a scoff, “So this is not the time to tell you that your shift ended twenty minutes ago?” She was one of those nurses that had that sass that was all no nonsense to give away she had been around long enough to see everything and plow through it, like dramatic doctors. Nori flailed a moment and really had to pinwheel his arms to not fall sideways before he could turn a pout at her, light glinting off his glasses at his head tilt, “One day Chou! One day you will realize your love for me and feel guilty for almost murdering me all the time.” It was a full on pout, with hand over his heart and everything, only to give a gasp at her next words, sharp and cutting words. “About the day you stop playing a fool for the world.” Still he dropped some of the act and flipped hair out of his face before smiling ever so sweetly, “Oh but all the better to hide my secret evilness from the world, no one suspects the sweet ones of being an evil genius.” His serious tone was likely ruined at his attempt of a cackle that was more like a chipmunk trying to bark at people, so of course Chou had to scoff at him. “Get out of here already Nori.”
Well if he was being kicked out, because he really had lost track of time, then he was more than happy to leave, really no need to tell him twice, so he gave a flourished bow, even clicked his heels together before turning to head out. “Goodbye my love, till we meet on the morrow!” Really Chou was too fun to play around with, he could spout nonsense at her and she never did bat an eye, took his humor with a dry tone and just prodded him into working. Really if she were like twenty years younger she would be perfect, minus being married for almost thirty years of course. Yoshinori did check in at the main desk to sign off on some things before making his way to the locker room to wash up and change, not wanting to smell like hospital if he could help it. Meant he hopped in the shower and freshened up so when he did in fact step outside he smelled like coconuts, which was far better than that too clean smell the halls held.
It was just cold enough to bite and for his wrists to ache with old woes, making him rub at his left one a moment before he realized and scowled slightly at the action, dropping his arms to his side and grumbling to himself. It had been a long day, he had a fourteen year old patient that was the perfect picture of sullen teenager and really half the time Nori sympathized and the other half the time he wanted to just knock the girl out. Had been a long day and he had nowhere to go but home, as always, and pretty much as always he did not want to go home yet. Still he headed towards the train station, he could get a stop or two closer to home before finding somewhere for a late dinner maybe. Was already trying to run through the restaurants along the way, hands curled in his pockets for warmth as he meandered along, mind wandering along on random things and glancing at the little shops he passed like he had not seen them a million times over.
The good thing about working late was that most of the foot traffic had died off almost an hour ago as it was well into supper time for most people, so he did not have to fight his way along, only to wait for a sign to change to cross the street. Was a relief to trot into the train station, it was a bit warmer than outside just by being out of that breeze, glanced at the time board to pick his station and missed that first flash of power. Green energy arcing by while he read off stations and timer counts, already mentally picking a nice little italian place that was only a stop before his own. The explosion that boomed in the air threw those thoughts out of his head, pretty much threw all thoughts out of mind given he was thrown to the side and slammed into a column some feet away. All air was forced from his lungs and he crumbled as the world went black between one heartbeat and the next, did not completely pass out, but it took seconds to remember how to breathe, leaving him gasping for air when his lungs could work again. Blinked his eyes into focus and for a moment freaked out at the tan and brown world till he yanked his glasses off his face and realized they were just coated in dust, much like the rest of him. Tried to blow them off, given he was lacking anything clean to wipe them, and shoved them back on to see what was going on. There was another explosion, farther away, that still made him flinch down and this time he saw the race of green energy that sparked in the air.
He had to move, first ran through a mental checklist, all body parts attached? Check. He could move everything? Check. Bleeding at all? Also check, sadly. Had smacked his head against the column and debris had pelted him. Used the column to stand slowly, clocking his own heart rate and how the world dimmed and spun, possible concussion then. By all rights he could just stay put and at some point police would swam the area, by all rights this was not his problem. On the other hand he had a code to uphold and that had Nori stumbling towards the initial explosion, his left knee not wanting to bend completely and making him walk with a limp. Found the first person only about teen feet from where he had been, awake but not aware and Yoshinori knelt at their side to check them over. Broken tibia and contusions from flying debris, spoke low and calm to them as they become more aware, explaining to them that they needed to remain still, if they had a phone then call for help. Then he was up and moving on, startling at another flash of green, went to knee at the next explosion and snarled something rather not pleasant in French at the pain that laced through his leg. Again was farther away, likely the fourth platform in for the station and so help him if he saw one idiot throwing around whatever green crap he was going to stab them and ask questions later.
Violence would have to come later though, instead he went to look for more injured, going poking at danger was not his job, as it were he might be going back to work now, nevermind someone would try to bench him for his own injuries. Nori had pushed through worse, this was going to be a all hands on deck event, even after rush hour there had to be at least two hundred people at the station this time of night. Far better than if this had happened two hours ago, or even an hour ago. Was still thankful to see it was not the platforms that were targeted, or the trains, but the rails and transformers for the station posts, so this was not an attack to kill but to destroy. Still the likelihood of casualties was high and he went into work mood like he never had left, ignoring his own dizziness and injuries to move person to person.
