Appearance:

Hair: Very pink, summer months has her hair a more pastel pink and it darkens in the winter a bit. Length is kept around her waist with longer bangs to frame her face.
Eyes: Also pink, a bit more red tone to her eyes than her hair though.
Height: 5ft and 4inches
Weight: 112lbs
Unique Features: She does have a limp if on her feet for too long, and in the colder months it is more pronounced.
Body: Kat is small and petite in build and frame, there is no way around that really. She is typical weight her for height, though recently been losing weight thanks to not eating as often as she should. Otherwise though she has slim set shoulders with a clavicle that is pronounced. Most of her height is in her torso, not her legs, but she had long arms, just short legs. Modest in body style, slim hips that are only accented because she is on the thin side, and a small bust that suits her frame. She is a medium ivory in skin tone with only pale scars from childhood showing through.
Clothing Style: Over all Kat dresses rather modestly and things that can be mix and matched and still go well together, mostly to hide that she does not own much in the way of clothing. She seems as comfortable in skirts as she does in pants, though both tend to be business casual in style, no jeans for her. Tops are either button up shirts or nicer blouses that she always wears tucked in. Sometimes has nicer jackets to wear if it is chillier, always matching her outfit though and in winter months she is missing a heavy coat. Does seem to like small heels, three inches or less because she wants to be able to run in them. Jewelry is hit and miss with her, her ears are not pierced but she has a few sets of clip ons, and she likes jingly bracelets.

Background:

Birthplace: New York, USA
Family: Mother is Hiromi Hibiki, father is David Yori, younger sister is Kasumi Hibiki
History: Kat, and she really rather go by Kat, clearly is not from Japan, though she is half Japanese through her mother, she was raised by her father in New York. Her parents split peacefully, stating that they married too young and had grown too far apart. So at the age of three Kat barely understood that when he mother bid her goodbye it was for good and no she was not coming back with sweets from the store. Like any small child she threw a fit over it when it started to come clear, and then went through the stage of blaming herself and her father the entire time was there for her. Really she could not have asked for a better dad, he dealt with her tantrums and her doubt and her tears with ease, unlike how her mother would have fallen on cold reserve. Time eased things of course, and as she got older she barely remembered her mother, though somewhere around five her dad broke down and told her that apparently she had a little sister. When her mother left she had not realized she was with child till after getting back to Japan and ended up keeping the child herself instead of sending a baby off to David.
Kat spent most of her life looking up to her dad, he was in her words amazing, he was some big fancy lawyer for most of her life and she loved to boast that he was a hero, locking away the bad guys. Left her wanting to read mystery books growing up, and detective novels, and watch all the law-like shows on tv. Even stumbled her way through some law books, with dictionary on hand just so she could ask her dad questions and try to understand all the big words he used about cases. Really she hero-worshiped him, was not hard to do though, even with his long hours at work and having to do paperwork at home he tried to focus the rest of his time on his daughter, taking her out to parks or museums when she got older. He would explain all the big words and let her read through his books and ask questions, even let her sit in his work office if she was really quiet.
It became clear quickly that Kat kind of just flew through books, and could recite them all back word for word then break it all down in her own words. Really her dad had issues keeping enough books on hand for his daughter. So it was no surprise that she flew through school like it was nothing, she would read the text books within the first month and really that was that. He clearly was the proudest parent ever when she started skipping grades and took her seriously when she said she wanted to follow in his footsteps.
Which was why it was such a huge hit when he was fired for misconduct, he threw his client under the buss really, without any remorse and proudly lost his job. Kat was at first horrified that her dad could do such a thing, and when she calmed down enough that he could explain she had to back him. He had done right, in the end a guilty man went to jail for multiple accounts of murder, the moral right was worth more than his job they both had to agree. David decided to apply for a PI license, something that had always interested him, and Kat cheered because it was just like one of her mystery books. And so things moved on really, with her focus shifting away from wanting to be a lawyer because really the law could be so twisted clearly.
Kat graduated high school at 16 and immediately started full time collage, she had already been doing a few collage classes but now she could throw herself into it. Really she felt like she was on top of the world. Then everything ended. A year later she was pulled out of the middle of a lecture and was told her dad was murdered, he had stumbled into things he maybe should not have, but had left enough evidence to end a kidnapping ring and Kat was of course devastated. Not only was her dad, her hero, killed, but she was being told she had to go to Japan to live with her mother she had not seen in 14 years because she was a year under 18. Kat tried to fight it and get emancipated but the courts ruled against her and off she got sent to Japan.
Kat did not remember much of her mother really, only that her mother was quiet and withdrawn, never one for hugs and vaguely that she always smelled of a thunderstorm. It was like meeting a stranger at the airport. She was just too tired and worn out though to care, only echoed the greeting in slightly rusty Japanese and was taken to her new home. Pretty much just slept the next 14 hours, jet lag and she had not slept in what felt like weeks, so when she woke up she was confused where she was till it all clicked and then she did not want to leave her bed. Her mother, Hiromi, was not very sympathetic and still pulled the teenager from the bed, demanded she clean up and meet for lunch, and really things did not improve from there.
Grieving was apparently frowned on, Hiromi had remarried into money and higher social structure and Kat was expected to adhere to the household rules, rules that over all made them all seem like emotionless robots. Kat tried to sidestep it all saying she would start applying to schools and move into a dorm as soon as possible and it was Hiromi's husband that put his foot down, saying no daughter in his family would be going to school, instead she needed to look for a husband. Other than her snapping that they were not stuck in the past and it all sounded crazy, things were not working out well. She ended up applying to schools anyway behind her parents back, and scholarships, even contacting her New York school to see if they could help. Ended up getting a full scholarship and unfortunately Hiromi opened the mail to find that letter.
There was a whole blow up that ended with Kat being told she would follow the rules or be kicked out, she shoved the issue by packing a bag and leaving that night. She had money from her dad's will to get a motel, seedy enough they did not care she was underage and it took her all of a week to get accepted into a collage and move into a dorm room. Sure things were harder now, without support but she would manage, took a crappy cashier job over night for money and did what she had to in order to stay in school and fed. After first year of collage though she ended up leaving the dorms, mostly because they were over crowded and because throughout the first year Hiromi and her husband kept showing up to threaten her to return home.
Kat went to staying at motels the best she could, and job hunted for a while, ended up being a paper pusher for an investigation unit, her knowledge of law helpful even if she knew more US law, she was quickly catching up on Japan law. That lasted about a year before she jumped ship to a detective agency, Fuji Detective Agency as it was called. Then she got to learn all sorts of things, like kings and slates that granted power and clan politics, which was not what she expected but Kat threw herself into learning all she could anyway. Meant that soon into her just working for the agency she also took the first step into joining the Grey Clan.

Abilities: Ummm well Kat has been told she technically can sense people if she tried? In a limited area, but she has not tested this, no reason to, and really this whole aura thing is still really new to her. So she is learning about things still, and as an intern her big concern is not so much power as much as how can she help the clan.
Trivia:
- goes through two books a day, that is just casual reading, outside of school or work
- really has a love for black coffee, straight black coffee
- all her classes are super early morning, every day, like she is the one that signed up for all 6am classes
- really is a morning bird and a night owl, it is middle of the day that she is in fact calmer
- will eat tomatoes like they are apples, really she will
