Aether Clan Info
Set-Up
Aether, the Grey Clan, is primarily stationed at the Fuji Detective Agency, a public servant group on the third floor of a business building in Tokyo Metropolis. The company has rights to the entire floor, and it is always busy and cluttered from people coming and going. The agency focuses primarily on either detective work or requests from the public, though they have been known to be personally asked by either the Tokyo Police Force or Scepter 4 to take up cases or for assistance. Though clan members do not have the jurisdiction to make arrests, they can be given jurisdiction by Scepter 4 or the Tokyo Police Force.
Clan ranks
There are various ranks in Aether, each an integral part of the Agency in their own ways. There is no set time of when a clan member may be promoted, some being promoted within the week and others within years, as it all depends on the amount of trust Toyo has concerning them, with fellow Detectives being trusted almost beyond a doubt, as well as their ability concerning their jobs. However, demotion or outright exile is possible, with a two strike system implemented; depending on the severity of the strikes, even Detectives might find themselves as Runners or kicked out.
The starting rank is Intern, and the only rank with a set time period. New members always start here, with a month to decide whether they truly want to join. In turn, they are also being tested by Detectives and Toyo, and by the month Interns are either accepted, denied, or canceled, the last being on their own part. As they are tentative members, Interns are only capable of using their aura to detect other people in a relatively small scope of area through the air. Generally this scope is the size of an SUV, and it cannot be used in areas lacking air (such as water).
The second rank is Pusher, who primarily focus on paperwork, computer work, finance, legality work, or directly dealing with clientele. Though they are the second official rank, most people are put into the third rank and so forth simply because they don't have the patience to deal with people or the required skill sets. They also often collect information through the internet or through calls and deliver that information to Runners and Detectives when needed. People will generally go to either a Pusher for requests and cases. Pushers generally do not need to worry about combat, so they're simply given a wider scope of detection, which is about as tall as a lamp post on the streets and as long as a school bus, as well as slight control over breezes.
The third rank, and thus the general point members start at after they're accepted, is Runner Apprentice, or R.A. for short. Each R.A. is assigned to a Runner, where they learn the ropes and how to deal with requests. Generally, an R.A. will deal with smaller requests, such as delivery and cleaning, when without their Runner, though they can take more difficult requests with their Runner's or Toyo's permission. They have the same scope of detection as a Pusher, but are able to use the wind to add force to their blows or swings, resulting in added strength. More experienced Runner Apprentices can focus their aura in a single object, enough where the resulting blows can dent or cut metal.
The fourth rank is Runner, which are people in charge of receiving various requests from the public and doing them for payment. This can be anything from escorting to protection services, with easier requests like cooking being handed to an R.A. Those Runners then collect the payment offered from the public and are later paid that share of profit. Runners are gifted with an increased scope of detection, about the size of a whole street, and are able to use wind to add incredible force to their blows or swings, as well as a wave of power, allowing them to fight both short-distance combat and long distance combat. Naturally, the resulting wave of air will not be as strong as the initial blow, but it can still be monstrous in its own right with enough control and power.
The fifth rank is Detective Apprentice, or D.A. for short. Like an R.A., each D.A. is assigned to a Detective to learn the ins and outs of detective work. Unlike an R.A., however, a D.A. is allowed to follow their Detective to all sorts of cases, both easy and difficult. This is to provide a thorough understanding, as well as help develop their skills. Should a D.A. be found incapable of being a Detective after a certain point of time and after an assessment, they may be demoted to an R.A. or a Runner depending on their age. Detective Apprentices have the same skill set as a Runner, as well as the same scope of detection. However, unlike Runners, a D.A. can teleport objects within their scope of detection, though those objects tend to weigh the same as the user or weigh less. These objects are still and not in motion when teleported.
The sixth and final rank is Detective. Detectives are in charge of investigating either publicly submitted cases or official police cases, as well as locating either missing people or missing items. Depending on the type of case, they either submit their findings or act on them. Detectives are highly trusted by Toyo, and she takes their opinion and words into great consideration. Because of her high trust in them, Detectives have the greatest amount of power out of all the other ranks, with their scope of detection being as wide as several city blocks and as tall as their building. They have the same capabilities as a Runner or a D.A., but are able to increase the amount of wind used in the after wave of a blow and teleport objects in motion, such as throwing knives and bullets. They can also teleport themselves, but not other people. The same weight rule, however, applies when it comes to teleportation.
*Character Creation*
If you are creating a Grey Clan member outright, please note that there are various restrictions. You can freely create Interns, Pushers, and even Runner Apprentices; however, a Runner and a Detective Apprentice need to be discussed, as they hold more authority in the clan. If you would like to make a Runner or a Detective Apprentice, please message Toyo Fujimori's account.
Please do not try to make a Detective outright without explicit permission, as they will be fewer in number, though it can be discussed for potential characters being promoted to Detective status later on through in-character threads. Also keep in mind that first time Grey Clan members are unlikely to be allowed to be Detectives outright, even if you do ask. It is simply because they are more experienced clan members and thus it is better off to get used to the clan mechanics and jobs before trying to ask to make a Detective.
