Hair: Kentaro's hair is short, with the back of it ending at the half way point of his neck and the front strands just past his jaw. It's a brown color, soft and occasionally decorated by hair clips that he uses to help keep his hair out his eyes during tests and work.
Eyes: His eyes are a muddy brown with flecks of gold around the irises.
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 133 lbs
Unique Features:
- Would have to be the scar at his forearm, a fracture resulting in bone piercing skin that got treated too late.
- There are bruises all over him, more concentrated at his torso, with the ones peeking out over the collar of his shirts and stinging at his face being covered up almost expertly by make-up and with the ones on his arms and legs hidden by long sleeved shirts and long pants.
Clothing Style: Kentaro can mostly be found either wearing his school uniform, which consists of a black, high collared jacket, a white long sleeved shirt, and black pants, or his work uniform, which is basically made up of dark, worn jeans, a yellow long sleeved shirt, and a green apron. For his school uniform, he wears black shoes, and then wears beat up green sneakers at his job. Casual clothing is a variety really, mostly careful to cover arms and his abdomen, but he enjoys wearing jeans and thin shirts of all colors except peach and purple. Because he has bad eyesight, he has two pairs of glasses, which he will wear if he believes he will need to read. He can never be found without his orange headphones either safely positioned on his head or hanging on his neck

Birthplace: Tokyo, Japan
Family: Masaru Aoshima, father, 46; Tomoko Kato, mother, 49; Saburo Kato, brother, 12.
History: Kentaro's history is relatively short, all things considered, because honestly nothing much has really changed. He's still being abused by his father, whether or not his mother and brother are in the picture, and it's easy to say he's never been attached.
When did it start though, is that the question? But what started when? Masaru's and Tomoko's hatred for each other? Masaru's anger towards Kentaro? Tomoko's coldness towards her oldest son? Well, those three started even before his father took to physical blows. You see, Masaru and Tomoko had been a whirlwind romance, and hastily married before they'd even moved in with each other once they found out Tomoko was pregnant. If it'd had been Masaru's, then maybe it would have all played out quite differently. But no, it was another man, at Tomoko's workplace even. Masaru forced her to quit, enraged and embarrassed that his own wife was pregnant with a child that wasn't his own, and Tomoko had been resentful ever since. Masaru could only see Ken as that product, and Tomoko could only see him as her second greatest shame. Both were detached and distant with him, the former prone to occasional verbal outbursts and the latter equipped with icy responses. The difference was easy to see when Tomoko had her second child, Saburo, and she was warm to him unlike how she was with both Masaru and Kentaro.
But even then, she didn't leave. Ken doesn't know why, nor does he really care. All he knows is she left when Masaru grew violent, so hostile after the economic crisis that Japan suffered in when Ken was six, and began hitting her. He didn't lay a hand on Saburo, so there's that in his favor. But Kentaro? He was fair game when he intervened, trying to keep Saburo calm and safe, and was an easy target from his size. His mother left three months after that started, Saburo in hand, and Kentaro didn't even know until he came home from school one day and found them gone, replaced with a drunken father.
This has continued for years, and his mother has only come into contact whenever he'd been hospitalized, telling him to keep his silence. It would ruin her reputation she said. And Kentaro had yelled from his bed, broken arm stinging, calling her all sorts of names until she said it would affect Saburo too. How do you think, she asked, a kid would be treated if his peers found out where he'd come from? Bullied, a disgrace, isolated!
And though Kentaro didn't give a rat's ass about his mother's reputation, he cared about Saburo back then. And that was enough to build up the habit, hide things, freeze them, lie, lie, lie, and eventually it became enough that he began internalizing it. Say it isn't one thing, over and over, and you become defensive of that false truth. On more than one level, from abuse to sexuality to belief. Even as he no longer did it for Saburo, he did it out of habit. Pride, habit, stubbornness, because he could get out, he would get out. Screw anybody who would tell him differently.
So for years, and even now, he's pretended nothing's wrong. He pretended and played the act even as his care for academics faded and grew strained, even as he grew hostile and touchy over people's opinions. What did it matter? He couldn't afford college. And people were dangerous just as much as they were appealing. That didn't stop him from making connections of course, becoming friends with people who cared enough or even people who stuck around, such as the kid he met when his arm had been broken for a second time.
He'd even been invited to Homra, after he hid some injured members away from a battle and slammed a bat into the face of a strain. It hadn't been useful, really, given that they were egging on to fight and the bat had no aura to it, but it was enough to impress them, he supposes. They told him once he'd gotten his shit figured out, to come find them. And man does he consider it every day.
To this day, he still lives with his father, still hides the effects of violence and fiercely believes in the lie that everything's fine. The only difference is that he's in high school, and he has an option for an even earlier escape.

Abilities: N/A
Trivia:
- unlike his friends, Kentaro himself isn't very popular, nor very involved with the school; in fact, the only reasons nowadays he'll stay at school longer than he thinks he has to is because of his friends.
- was born on 16 February, 1995.
- generally sleeps more in class than he does at home
- does not think himself as being abused, because that label means he is powerless and he's not, he fights back when it gets to be too much, and that's why sometimes his knuckles are bruised or bloodied on occasion.
- he's on horrible terms with the rest of his family; for one, his mother refused to help him when she could and left him behind, for two, his brother doesn't understand why Kentaro is so hostile towards her, so he's hostile to him in turn.
- is, according to his classmates, surprisingly good at applying makeup, and thus is usually pulled into helping out with it during school plays and festivals
