Malachi has three days off. Doctor ordered. Otherwise he would have refused. Still tried to refuse but his doctor had called the office to give order, and it was one of the clan's doctors so he could not turn up at the tower to work through the three days either. Of course not. Left him with free time, and no idea what to do with free time because it was such a foreign concept to him. Last time he had a day off had been.... well a while ago because if he was off from work then he could always stick his nose into clan business and that would take up his time just as well. Otherwise he was pretty sure his last day off had been taken up by Brooklyn because somehow the other man had ferreted out when he had free time and basically kidnapped him. Hard to kidnap the willing though, of course. He had pondered briefly calling but decided against it, if Brook had free time then he would turn up, Malachi was not going to pull him away from work if he was needed. So his first day off he ended up cleaning the flat from top to bottom, the best he could with one arm in a sling and a cracked rib. Likely doing more than he should when he suppose to be taking it easy, but the place needed it badly, he might want to look into hiring a maid for the normal chores. Was not like he got to come here as often as most people went home after all, so things like just dusting or cleaning out the fridge did not happen as often as they should.
Second day he did in fact sleep in, which simply meant he got out of bed at 7 instead of 5, which was incredibly rare for him, and he took his time about it, lounging in bed an extra fifteen minutes even. Took a long shower as well, simply enjoying the hot water and steam for a few moments longer than normal. Then he had no idea what else to do with his time though, he did not have hobbies, he did not exactly have friends to go lean on in his time of boredom. Which would be exactly why lunchtime had him heading out, jacket carefully pulled on and as much as the sling annoyed him he was good and tugged it on as well. Took a cab instead of walking and taking the train because Malachi was not sure he could deal with the press of people right now. The cabbie tried to talk but he only gave vague answers and a polite smile that was only slightly pained. Well he did refuse to take the pain meds that had been handed to him, not wanting the fuzzy mind and slowed reactions, he would deal with the pain instead.
Tokyo Legal Affairs Bureau, Civil Registry Department, Annex 4 was such a very long legal name, the public name and departmental name of Scepter 4, the name that most people knew. Malachi only knew otherwise because of his own clan, and it was because of his own clan that he did this the very proper way, manners after all. So he waited calmly for an escort from a blue clan member, explained why he was here and played the part of the clueless civilian. Took a few minutes to get it across why he was there before he was lead farther into the building, and Malachi could have looked around at the grander of the building but he had seen it before. "Hey Fujimoto! You have a visitor." Likely there might have been more ribbing from Brooklyn's coworkers but Malachi ignored them to instead set eyes on his lover, boyfriend, significant other? Really he was not sure a title had ever really been talked about between them, and hopefully he was not causing a scene by showing up without warning, hopefully Brooklyn did not mind that his coworkers likely would figure out their connection. Offered a small smile, small but warm for all he looked tired, arm in a sling and clearly favoring one side over the other. "I was hoping I could steal you for lunch." Far too many eyes were on them but he ignored them with practiced ease, like it was only Brooklyn and himself there. "If you could make time for me."

"Saia yelled at me again today... How depressing…” Brooklyn whined to himself as he road the bullet train back into Tokyo. With one arm over his face, he watched the shadows on the ceiling rush pass hopelessly distracted by all the things Saiako had said. She had called him some pretty nasty things today and he had to wonder if him visiting her was really the best thing for them. Their relationship was so strained and she seemed to hate him so much that perhaps staying away would be better. After all, it was what she wanted… wasn’t it? He wasn’t entirely convinced that it was, and it was because he wasn’t that he kept going back to see her despite all her abuse. His relationship with his sister was pretty heavy and honestly, he didn’t like that think about it if he could help it. The fact he couldn’t really escape his thoughts today only proved that he did care what his sister thought of him, and it bothered him he couldn’t fix their relationship.
Time passed quickly on the bullet train and before he knew it he had arrived in Tokyo, the train began rolling to a stop Brooklyn sighed as he stood. The sound of metal scraping metal roared out waking anyone who had previously been asleep and within the span of a few moments the train car was full of standing people ready to rush off the jam-packed train. The train's doors opened and an animated voice welcomed them all to Tokyo. Like everyone else, Brooklyn pushed his way off the train and began to make his way into the station. He pondered just going home but then his thoughts slowly drifted to Malachi. The other man ran across his mind as he walked through the underground tunnels of Tokyo. Visiting his boyfriend seemed like the most entertaining idea he had today, but it was hardly fair of him to drop in unannounced when Mal was at home recovering. So he wrote off that idea quickly and continued to wander around until he found himself above ground on the streets.
All his wandering lead him to unconsciously follow a path he knew until he found himself standing in front of the gates of his workplace. To think he would end at work on his day off, must be a sign he was really down if this was where he ended up. He sighed again and pulled his phone from his pocket, he glanced at the time. It was lunchtime which meant if he was lucky he would be able to work a half day. With that hopeful thought in mind, Brooklyn made his way into Tokyo legal affairs bureau in search of his king only to be disappointed to find out he was out for the day. Which of course meant there was none in the building today with the authority to schedule him. He was officially on his own today and that sucked because he didn’t know were to go from here. He kind of just ended up in his office contemplating just working for free today. If he just shut the door no one would even notice let alone care, right?
Of course with that said someone had noticed he was there and was now calling his name from down the hall. Well, whoever the person was they had successfully drawn every eye in the room including Brooklyn’s which he supposed was their goal. He raised an eyebrow at them as they approached going on about how he had a visitor. It took him a second to look past the insanely loud person and take notice of the individual behind them. Of course the second he did do that he noticed the person visiting him was in fact, Malachi. Well wasn’t he a sight for sore eyes because simply seeing his lovers face was enough to lighten his mood. “Malachi, what are you doing here I thought the doctor told you to rest?” Brook said as he stepped into Mal’s personal space. He supposed his word were meant to sound worried but truthfully he was far too excited to be worried. It was rare for Mal to visit him at work, most of the time it was the other way around. The fact that he was here right now made Brooklyn feel like they had grown a little closer as a couple. Such an embarrassing thought made him grin and laugh softly as he took his lover by the hand. Mal asked for a bit of his time and Brook couldn’t help but grin at that, “I always have time for you.” Hell if he wanted Mal could have all of his time, every second of it until he died. After all, he was pretty sure what they had was love so really that was a no-brainer.
Brooklyn was never the type of person who cared what strangers thought of him, the fact he was holding another man's hand in front of his coworkers didn’t even phase him. He was gay and that was pretty much public knowledge so of course, he stepped in close and fearlessly purred at Mal’s invite to lunch. There was really no reason to stay at work any longer since he had all he needed now that he had Malachi. Brooklyn quickly turned to the coworker who had so thoughtfully brought his boyfriend to him and grinned. “Hey thanks for bringing him to me, you're a total lifesaver.” He said patting them on the back. “I’ll see ya later eh.” Dismissed them after that and turned his attention back to Mal, “Where did you want to go for lunch? Do you have a place in mind?” Chuckled at that as he began to drag Mal down the hall. “I know a bunch of places if you need help deciding.” He said as he walked backward in front of Malachi unable to take his eyes of the other man for a second. He hoped that he was welcome, this was his first trip into Brooklyn’s place of work and they had never talked about social boundaries. It was something that he fretted over only now that he was already here and with an escort, but he was already here so Malachi would just see it through at this point. Even if the trip was fruitless it still got him out for a while, before he lost his mind because rest was not something he was capable of. Not when he had considered hacking into servers to pull paperwork he could work on, not the clan servers of course they would catch him far too easily. He needed out and visiting Brooklyn had just been common sense, he had not stopped to think about it, which was foolish he supposed. So many things could have gone wrong here, he could have been too busy, or not in the office or even off today, their lives did not revolve around each other after all. However it did all work out, he got to watch Brooklyn’s entire face light up, which was something that would always bring a soft smile to his lips. One of his rare smiles at that that was not a mask of some sort.
Being called out on his rest order however only made him raise a delicate brow and scoff, “I rested.” Bland words that left no room for argument because he was tired of resting, Malachi had never been so still for so long in his life. This was torture, being on mandatory break, with nothing to keep his mind busy. Technically he had rested, in his own way, he had slept in, he had not tried to sneak into work, that was restful enough. He only had one hand readily available to take but that did not stop Brooklyn for reaching out and Malachi allowed it because it was sweet and really he should be safe here of all places. Squeezed Brooklyn’s hand at the grin and the answer, grateful that he could steal him away for a while at least. “Wonderful.” A soft word, for Brooklyn alone given the tenderness to it, wrapping up thankfulness and pleasure at getting to spend time together in a single word.
There was basically a purr there and that made him shake his head at the theatrics, it was a simple lunch invite but someone might think Malachi invited him to a quick moment in a locked office. It was totally how Brooklyn was though, free with his emotions and reactions and it was endearing really. “And no,” Allowed to get pulled along with a mildly sheepish smile as he tilted his head, not glancing at the coworkers staring openly, “I did not have anywhere in mind so I would very much be open to suggestions.” He was not really sure what was in this immediate area, and Malachi rather something in this area, he did not want to walk far or long, or deal with public crowded transportation. Was in far too much pain for that, already shifted his arm and held back a grimace from the action of that or the press against his ribs. “I suppose I am putting myself in your hands for the day, please do treat me well.” There was a teasing tone there, a stranger might not pick up on it and simply think him being overly formal, but Brooklyn should know the slyness to his eyes or how he dropped his voice to something more suited for a private setting.
